Festivals and campuses · festival map creator
A festival map drawn on the real grounds
Start from the real park, campus or street closure, not a blank page. Put stages, food, water and first aid where they stand, and attendees follow walking routes on real paths from their phones.
How to make a festival map
- Pick the grounds. Draw a box around the park, campus or closed streets. Paths and buildings arrive in 3D from OpenStreetMap.
- Add what the festival brings. Stages and tents where they stand, then pins for food, water, washrooms and first aid.
- Share one link. Print Here Codes for the gates and info points, so a scan shows people where they are.
Why start from the real grounds
Most festival maps are a drawing. A drawing cannot show people the way from the gate they came in by. A boothmap sits on the real streets and paths, so walking routes follow the ground people are actually on, and the map still makes sense outside the fence.
The same goes for campus events: open days, orientation and conferences across several buildings. Highlight the buildings in use, add floor plans where people go inside, and keep it all on one map.
Ready for a crowded network
Once opened, the map keeps working when the mobile network is overloaded, and walking directions are worked out on the phone.
Questions
What is a festival map creator?
A tool for drawing the map of a festival: where the stages, food, water and first aid are, and how to walk between them. Boothmap.live starts from the real grounds instead of a blank page.
Can I add things that are not on the map, like stages and tents?
Yes. Place stages, tents and other objects, size and rotate them, and pick their colours. Mark a barrier or a closed path as blocking, and walking routes go around it.
What if the signal drops?
Once opened, the map keeps working offline, and walking directions are worked out on the phone.
Does it work for campus events?
Yes. Highlight the buildings in use, add floor plans where people go inside, and keep the whole campus on one map.
